Get in the Game is the official blog of the National Association of Sports Commissions (NASC). Established in 1992, the NASC is a non-profit, 501(c)3, membership based association and profits networking, professional development, best practices and industry research to more than 525 member organizations. The NASC also produces the annual NASC Sports Event Symposium.  The NASC is the source for all your sports event travel needs.

Don Schumacher, executive director of the National Association of Sports Commissions (NASC), is the primary contributor to the blog. Don has spent the last thirty years managing sports facilities, bidding on and promoting sports events, conducting market and feasibility studies, and consulting with cities on how they can obtain a larger share of the sports event travel market. In 2008, he was recognized by Sports Events magazine as one of the “25 influential people you should know” in the sports travel industry.

Occasionally we’ll feature guest contributors from the NASC Board of Directors and member committees.
